Note: I don't care what religion a person has. My best friend, ~pondiprarri, is Jewish and I participated in almost all of her holidays and whatnot last year when we still went to the same school (Passover was a bitch). My other best friend is Christian. My other OTHER best friend, *Juromaru, is a self-proclaimed poor Jew. It's when people cause controversy and force their opinions on others and shit like that that I get mad.
There's this whole thing about The Golden Compass being anti-religion, which I think is a crock of bull. It's a KIDS' film. And to be honest, why would anyone BOTHER being anti-religion in a kids' film? Obviously the national film association of America or whatever they're called thought it was alright, so we should just leave it at that. From what I can tell, all these protesters have managed to do is make more popularity for the film and prompt people into buying tickets so they can see THE GREAT RELIGIOUS CONTROVERSY LULZ for themselves.
Tch. I'm feeling really...anti-religion right now, and sorry if you're religious. I seriously think religion needs to butt out though. There's a reason we don't have a church-based government, you know. -_-; Look how well those governments went over. Henry VIII is a classic example. Plus, isn't everyone entitled to their own opinion? The director for The Golden Compass is atheist, right? In his mind, he probably wasn't making any stabs at any sort of religion at all.
Yes I am very much against organized religion. I hate how it's been used so many times to cause wars and for people to have an excuse for their actions. Just can't stand it.
My cousin gave me the longest lecture I've ever had last summer for my atheism ._. It was epic, seriously. I love her to death, but at the same time...it's rude, you know? And even still, my parents don't care that I don't do religion. They both have their own beliefs, and they're fine with what we (their kids) do. And I really respect them for that, because they understand that not everyone thinks the same way that they do. Too bad more people aren't like that.
But um, yes. This wasn't meant to insult anyone but the idiots who take offense at the littlest things. So sorry if I offended you, but I really don't care. You can choose to take me seriously or not, and I'm not in control of your feelings. Just don't rant at me, because I won't listen.

Anyway, parents are insane and have to do EVERYTHING in the name of what they think is right, although ironically they're just being idiots and going against what their religion teaches (tolerance, etc.) which never fails to crack me the fuck up.
So decided to go see the movie 19 times, stand outside the theater smoking pot with sunglasses on telling people that I'm a lesbian feminist and that I think the government caused 9/11 and it's a conspiracy

Atheist also try to force their views on others. Religious people do this too but atheist are praised more when they do so.
Religion isn't the major factor in starting wars, power/greed/superiority/etc is. I forget who made this quote, but it goes something like this, "If there is truly evil in this world, then it lies within the hearts of men." (Mankind mind you.)

I can not stand most atheist in my school. They mock other people's beliefs like they are some how superior for not believing in any thing. Example: Adults who believe in imaginary friends are stupid.

I think atheists are more praised because people are tired of having all the different religions fighting...like I said, I could care less about what religion someone has, as long as they don't try to force it on me XD
If there were some kind of...I dunno...world-wide religion that everyone could believe in...but that wouldn't work, because people think differently. ARGH. *pulls hair out*
But anyone who tries to force their belief on others or mocks others because of it shames the name of whatever they're trying to prove. Like, by mocking them for it, that will most likely only make them want to protect their belief, right?
